Amelia is an independent, caring woman who can be feisty, adventurous, loves to bake and cook, surfs, one heck of a volleyball player......why is she still single? That's due to much heartache over her short lifetime and not being able to open up or trust anyone except for Pen and Blu, her best friends and family. She also has thrown herself deep into her studies. She meets Craig, his brother Cory, and their friend Ben while vacationing at her uncle's beach house.Craig is a former special forces, law student with his future planned out. Craig has taken his self off the market, not even Corey and Ben's girls they brought over to the house peek his interest. He lack of interest is not because his mind is preoccupied with taking the bar soon, it's that he had a ex who was just a tad to crazy. Then he meets......Amelia.
The story can get a little slow and the use of baby can be over used at times, but this was a great book. I loved the back and forth point of view of Amelia and Craig. The reader is able to get inside both of their heads. There were some great scenes and C.T. Oliver doesn't have the main characters just jump right into bed. She also develops not only the main characters but also the supporting characters, leaving me at least, wanting to know more about their story also.
Craig and Amelia continue their relationship even after their vacation moving their relationship to the real world which Amelia was unsure about. Everything is great until Craig becomes out of character. We finally find out why in the last few chapters, why he just hasn't been himself. He promises to never lie to Amelia, but he kept this one thing from her.....that's only part of the cliff hanger.

Love of Truth edition by CT Oliver Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
The blurb of the book was enticing the beach, hot guys next door, surfing and of course wanting to know what secrets might keep them apart in the end. I wanted to see what happened, but a few chapters in, I was struggling to finish the book. There were many grammar mistakes and sometimes those aren't distracting, but in this case they were...words left out or misused or sentences that didn't make a lot of sense. Also, in other books I've read with dual POVs, each new POV is labeled; in this book they weren't and it took me a minute on each chapter to figure out WHO was actually narrorating that part of the book. I didn't like how they knew each other for about 2 seconds before he basically moved into her beach house with her; it all felt too rushed and too quickly resolved for me. There was a lot of filler in the book that we really didn't need--there were several paragraphs that I skimmed or skipped because it was focused about all the food they were eating or cooking while at the beach and talking about the dog not needing to eat human food, etc. Also, we learned about SEVERAL hobbies of Amelia's; what was the importance of hearing all about how amazing she was at surfing, archery, rock climbing, cooking, using her uncle's gym; seems like they were put in there, glossed over and then done? I still feel like I'm missing a lot of the backstory about her, her family and her past. And we didn't really get to know Craig or his story at all...who the heck is Jenny and why was it the last pages of the book when she comes into the picture being all crazy?? If someone was THAT crazy, I'd think they'd have reached out to Amelia and Craig WAY before then and why didn't he ever give up more of his past in the "getting to know you" stage when he told her she could trust him? I was actually glad there was so little angst in the book and then we were left with that ending...What the heck?? It made no sense whatsoever and I get that it's leading into a 2nd book, but why wait until the last page before putting a threat/bad guy/suspenseful twist on the story? It would have made more sense if there had been some mystery/threats/twists earlier in the book and then it came to a head at the end. I think there was potential to have a really good book here, but it fell short to me.
This was a nice relaxing read, I LOVED IT. I felt like I had a lot in common with Amelia, which made me feel content with her and totally feeling what she was feeling throughout the book. Great love story for the summer!!!! Bravo D
I loved that Amelia is a strong and independent and that Craig treasured that about her. Blu, Pen, Cory & Ben were interesting, quirky and added so much to the story and of course Larry the dog which was so adorable. It was romantic, funny and Just enough excitement and spice, I can't wait for more. In my opinion, it was the perfect summer read!!
The ending kept me on edge and I was like WTF!!!! I love how Craig is very protective of Amelia. I am a little nervous of Jason even from when he was introduced in the story; I felt he was a little off on his behavior, that he was a little stalkish.
What is it and books and cliffhangers! I just don't understand it. The book is told from both point of views and of course I love Craig's more, "okay, when I talk to her, I'm also going to have to talk to that dog about common courtesy, a.k.a No Co**-Block!" He's also a sweetheart, and caring, "hey, I know we haven't met, my name is Craig. I don't think you should drive if you're feeling frantic, and it looks like you don't want to let him go, so why don't I drive you?" He's also a playful guy, "oh baby, you keep teasing me like that and we're not going to get to the water at all today." He uhh.... like's his girl's panties to, "baby, you can't wear that. How am I supposed to focus on targets when I know you're wearing those under your pants." Amelia likes to shock her man at times, "Jesus, baby. You're not wearing any panties!" I rest my forehead against hers, trying to catch my breath. "You've been sitting next to me all night with no panties on." Amelia and Craig like to tease each and it's quite cute, "god baby. You're going to kill me one of these days with that look. Now, be good and let me get us home and then you can pick the movie, the flavors, the bed, the floor and whatever...Just hold on." I'm hoping there's going to be a second book since this one kind of ended not so well.
